With health and well being a priority in education- ‘Transforming children and young people’s mental health provision’ is to ensure schools are adequately supported to build whole school environments' - Shine's main ethos is to build confidence and creativity, helping to shape the whole, happy, confident child who has the foundations to grow into a postitive strong and well rounded adult.

Shine was created in 2017 by Rachel Harrison and Sam Kitson. They wanted to help children develop their confidence, express themselves, manage their emotions and feel free to be creative in a safe space. Sam and Rachel have taken Shine into local schools and ran after school clubs which included circle time, discussion, yoga, relaxation and art during fun, themed sessions.

Sam is a qualified children's yoga teacher, DBS checked and fully insured. Sam runs her own small arts business and worked as a Cultural Officer in Melton for 10 years with families at the children's centres, teaching art, baby yoga and setting up community art projects. She also worked in arts and mental health and has a passion for children's creativity and wellbeing and is an author of children's book 'In The Stars' which helps children through loss.
